Old Antique Violin Very Nice with Bows and case Vintage Violin Very Nice Cannot read the Label Start Price USD 50.00 Current Price USD 480.00 Time Left - Bid Count 19 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, September 06, 2008 End Time Saturday, September 13, 2008 Location Greencastle, PA See more about 'Old Antique Violin Very Nice with Bows and case' Description This is a very old Violin.  This was my uncles and when he passed went to my parents and when they passed came to me.  I have started un packing things to see what is there and found this Violin.  It has had to be boxed away over 40 years and could have been longer.  I tried to see what it was and looked for a label inside but there looks to be something with writing on but can't make it out and there is either dust or something on it or maybe the label is gone completely but I don't want to do anything to hurt the violin so I didn't even try hard to see it other then trying to blow in it to see if some of the dust would move.  Before my mom passed in 2001 she used to tell stories of how my uncle would play this violin since they didn't have tv or anything for entertainment back when she was little.  I do not know what year this was made and have no clue its true value either.  I am thinking someone who collects them will be able to figure it out and also what kind it is.  I was going to try and take it to get it appraised but I didn't find anyone in my area that does that and didn't want to ship it away to anyone so it could be a gem or not and what it is worth will be up to you.  I have been listing things the last few weeks to use the money to help cover costs for taking my 4 year old daughter to disney so if this sells the money will go toward that.  I took 12 pictures of the violin and what you see is what you get.  It actually looks like its in pretty good shape from what I have seen listed there on ebay.  It was in a case that reminds me of a coffin and has two bows with it that looks like horse hair or something like that in which to play the instrument.  The wood looks in good shape and I am sure it could look better if cleaned up a bit.  I didn't do anything to it in fear of hurting it.  I have never seen this other then unboxing it this week so its been pretty much in its case and boxed for as long as I can remember and I just turned 45.  We live in a smoke and animal free home.  This is a nice violin for someone who collects them.  Item is sold as is with no returns. I don't play instruments so if you have any questions I will do my best to answer them.  You may have to guide me a bit.  Thank you for checking out my auction.  Happy Bidding.  Place a Bid!
