Description
This ceramic Totonack figura from Vera Cruz, Mexico dates from 200-600 AD. He stands approximately 17 1/2 inches tall. He has lost his arms, but his head and body are in very good condition for the age of the figura. Pitch has been used to accent the headdress, eyes and mouth. This figura was purchased at Bloomingdale's in New York City in 1974 (see COA). At that time, Bloomingdale's acquired a Pre-Columbian art collection from an estate. The pieces were used in Bloomingdale's advertising and in room treatments in the furniture department. This piece was featured in one of the ads. If you purchase this piece, shipping and insurance are free! Guarantee: I guarantee this figure is ancient as described. You have 10 days after receipt of the figure to validate its authenticity. If you do not feel the figure is ancient as described, and you can give adequate reasons for your concerns, you may return the figure to me (paying shipping and insurance costs) and I will refund your purchase price. While I am sure of the quality of the figure, I wouldn't want you to be unhappy with your purchase.
