These gorgeous pillows/ shams  has been beautifully hand embroidered in white thread with a delightful interlaced monogram RS / SR ??? and adorned with  a crown of a French Count . I think they are made from "pur fils" linen and look as though they have been little used as they still retain their  creamy colour. The linen is of very good quality as you would expect for the aristocracy , being very fine and smooth. There is a row of narrow drawn thread work ( ladder stitch ) which borders  the edge of the shams / pillowcases. Each case is closed at the back by 6 buttons. They are both  in excellent condition They have been laundered but have a few very light marks, so might need a lttle freshen up. One of the shams is slightly larger than the other Size of case inside measurement :  25 x 26  inches    /  63.5  x  66 cms approx  Size of case outside measurement :   29 x 30 inches  /    74 x  76.5 cms approx                   Packed  weight  : under 500g A wonderful "fadedgrandeur" French treasure to treasure and add a touch of luxury to any boudoir !!
