Description
Pre-Columbian Veracruz Smiling Face Pottery Head, late classic, circa 600-900 A.D. The head is 6" high and 5" wide. It is mounted on a very nice custom black wood stand which is ideal for display. This beautiful terracotta head is of hollow form, with molded smiling facial features and elaborate headdress. This is a magnificent work of art and exhibits the classic features of Veracruz smiling faces. It is very good original condition, except for a crack along the right side extending across the top. This is not visible frontally, but can be seen in the picture from the right side. There appears to be a little restoration of the crack across the top. Provenance: From a private New York collection sold at Sotheby's 20 years ago. Authenticity is Guaranteed. Buyer to pay $20.00 for shipping plus insurance is required. Payment by Paypal.
