Description
RENULIFE Violet Ray Generator Kit     This auction is for a rare “Quack Medicine” kit manufactured by the “Renulife Electric Company” of Detroit, Michigan.   This fantastic Violet Ray Generator Kit implemented the use of “high frequency electric treatments” (Electrotherapy) to relieve the symptoms and even cure everything imaginable from abscesses to writer’s cramp and all kinds of diseases and ailments in between.   The kit is 100% complete, all original and functions perfectly.   All of the blown glass attachments are in place in the lid. All are free of any chips, cracks, etc. There is also a metal electrode attachment in the lid. Each electrode attachment fits into the black hard rubber handle (vibrator/ozone generator) and all function perfectly. Also included is the original bottle of lubrication oil which was for use with some of the “internal” electrodes.   The lower portion interior of the case features a beautiful wood surface board with three hard rubber control knobs. The center brass plate bears the manufacturer information, model number, voltage, watts, and the original patent date of September 30, 1919.   The instruction booklet, which is copyrighted 1926, is also included. The Renulife system is explained in great detail. It makes for fantastic reading on early medical practices.   The booklet lists all of the other treatments with instructions for use with acne, adhesions, alopecia (falling hair), anemia, arterio sclerosis (high blood pressure), asthma, anus fissures, blackheads, bunions, corns, boils, bronchitis, birth marks, bladder disease, carbuncles, catarrh, chapped skin, cervicitis (cervix inflammation), chilblains, chorea, cold extremities, cold in head, constipation, conjunctivitis, convalescence, dandruff, deafness, dyspepsia, earache, ear diseases, eczema, enlarged prostate, eye diseases, frost bite, goiters, gout, gray hair, hoarseness, hay fever, hypotension (low blood pressure), headaches, heart disease, hemorrhoids, herpes zoster, hives/rashes, insomnia, infantile paralysis, influenza, indigestion, iritis (eye), laryngitis, lumbago, lupus (tuberculosis of the skin), massage, menopause, moles, mumps, nervous diseases, neuralgia, neuritis, paralysis, poison ivy, pleurisy, post fracture conditions, post operative conditions, prostatic diseases, psoriasis, pyorrheah, rectal diseases, rheumatism, ring worm, scars, sciatica, seborrhea, sinusitis, skin diseases, sore feet, sore throat, sprains, tonsilitis, tinnitus aurium (ringing of the ears), uterine diseases, warts, etc.   The velvet lined leatherette case is in good condition showing some age wear, especially to the handle. All of the original brass hardware and Eagle Lock Company lock remain. We do not have a key. (The brass could use a polishing.) Again, all of the attachments are free of any damage and all function perfectly. The booklet is in very good condition showing only expected age wear.   The case measures approximately 14 3/4” x 12” x 5 1/4”.     As with all antiquated electrical items, we do advise to use caution.     In True Auction Format . . .
