During his lifetime however he  was  an important contributor to the 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratifs Modernes and was awarded the French Legion of Honour in 1926. With his brother Ernest and sister Ernestine he managed one of the largest art glass factories in France during the exciting artistic period we call the Art Deco. The works from the Charles Schneider glass factory used all of the historical  glass making tecniques as well as techniques that developed during the 1920's. The daring use of colour and design is a trademark of Charles Schneider's glass output.
