Each picture is delicately painted in oil (I think) on a very thin sheet of natural bone like material! These are contained back to back within the double sided convex glazed frame. Judging by the likeness I would think they are mother and daughter. The clothing is quite interesting and I believe either Flemish or Breton, especially the lace work bonnets and the heavy embroidery to to shoulders of the jacket or dress The whole item is in excellent condition with no damage to the paintings or the glasses and the gold frame which holds it all together is in very good condition with a firm screw 'ball' which hold the frametogether and the bail for hanging. I would think it was originally owned by a gentleman, possibly worn as a watch fob, rather than as a pendant.
