Description
Beautiful and elegant Antique German silver (800 standard) openwork sifter ladle or powdered sugar spoon, probably late 19th century and with a nice substantial weight. I have tried to capture the elegance of this piece in my photos, but the piece is much nicer than the photos are able to show. This elegant 7 7/8" long sifter has a handle decorated with a raised scene of a classical building with Corinthian columns and urns on the top. It also has a beautiful gilt bowl lavishly pierced with a flower and scroll design. This design is further enhanced by the addition of lines of engraving which accent each of the swirls and flowers. The back of the handle and the back of the bowl also have very nice decoration. Marked on the inside bowl edge with a crescent, crown, and 800 in a rectangle. Condition is excellent with crisp detail to the pattern, fine engraving and the gilt is very fine on the bowl (even though the photos may not show it). We do our best to accurately describe each item and to provide photos, and we have had excellent customer satisfaction. If you have questions or need more detailed photos, email us. See my other eBay listings for more items. Terms: Paypal, Money order or check (allow clearing). Buyer pays for insured first class shipping with delivery confirmation to U.S. addresses. NJ shipping addresses add 7% sales tax. I am willing to sell this item internationally.
