It is made of blackened ebony and peach tree. The marquetry, made of copper, brass and tin is also spectacular. The mirror reflective layer was re-stained For references, this unique piece is listed in the French Dictionary of Furniture and Arts by L.Robert Dimensions: H: 108 ½” (39 ½” to the top of lower section) – W: 57” – D: 22 ½” Dimensions of the mirror: H: 49 ½” – W: 25” (My web ref. 981) History - Guillaume Grohé executed orders for many royals: King Louis-Philippe, Emperor Napoléon III, Empress Eugénie, the Queen Victoria of England, the Duc d'Aumale to name the most famous.
