I live in Clarksville TN. and have all my life. I found the jugs buried up in the dirt of my Grandparents farm in the old smoke house. The jugs were in the left hand corner of the room as you walk in the old smoke house. My grandfather had bought the farm in his early 20's when he married my grandmother. The family that he bought the farm from had it during the civil war. When he bought the farm the smoke house was already there. My grandfather just used it as a catch all building, for extra farm equipment parts and other small things. I asked him about the jugs and he said that he had never noticed them. The only thing that you could see was the lid and realy not all of that.My grandmother was a big cook and she said that she never seen them. The old smoke house is gone, but the 2 story house is still standing and as well as the family graveyard from the first family that owned it during the civil war. Also, these are the only 2 known to be in existance.
