I looked in two books on early American stoneware "Stoneware & Blue & White Pottery" by Husfloen and also "American Stoneware" by Raycraft and there was not even one hand drawn stoneware jug listed with the type of spirits contained inside, just later stencilled examples that are fairly common.Condition: there is one 5/8" chip on the lip, otherwise in fine condition with no other base chips or hairlines.
