See more about 'dulcitone' Description Dulcitone, Scotland  C . 1860;  A  5 octive tuning fork piano made by Thos. Machell & Sons, of Glasgow  c. 1860 # 901-871 .  This keybord instrument has a row of tuning forks inside and was used by missionaries  to Africa and Asia where many of them ended up.  I believe that there were only 400  of these made. The case is of beautiful cuban mahogany with fine dovetail joints. The few cracks in the case have been expertly repaired and do not affect the sound. The legs fold up for transport and ther is a foot pedle for the damper. This  instrument is well in tune with good action .
